Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin

Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin is a fight that I believe one day will happen. I think that Shane Carwin is the only heavyweight that can take down Lesnar other than Fedor. Go on youtube and check out Shane Carwin fights, better yet try and find this thingy the did on him cuz his fights do not do his skills justice if that makes any sense. His hands are BIGGER than Brock Lesnars heh

Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir UFC 100

It's been a while since I updated this blog - sorry I know it gets searched a lot in Google. I will try and post more often.

Well UFC 100 is next weekend. My prediction is that Brock Lesnar is going to beat Frank Mir from referree stoppage due to strikes. It will be a repeat of the first time they fought except this time Mir will not survive long enough to catch him in a submission. I think the only one that can beat Lesnar is Shane Carwin. One day Shane Carwin will be the heavyweight champ - so get read for Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin soon.

I think that GSP will win other Alves but I'm not sure how. Alves is a beast, but GSP is the man. I am hoping he will ground and pound him out but not sure if that will be the case since Alves is a tough mofo.

Fedor Emelianenko vs Shane Carwin would be a fun fight -_-

Been looking at punching bags lately

I have been thinking about getting a punching bag for some time now. I wasn't sure what kind I should get back after some reading I think I am gonna get a stand up one. I live in a condo so there is no room to get a hanging bag. If you are considering getting one make sure you do some research first on punching bags because there really is a lot of different bags you can get. Some even use water, some are for indoor some are for outdoor. I am not sure if I want to get any boxing gloves or just use the little mma style gloves for this, but I am definitely going to get a punching bag real soon.

Affliction Banned Results - Fedor pwnage!

Yo UFC FANS: Scroll down below this post for the UFC Anderson Silva vs James Irvin Results...

Well a lot of people didnt realize that tonight was also the Affliction Banned event put on by Afflication aka Randy Couture and Donald Trump - that's right the trumpster w00t - anyhoo Fedor Emelianenko fought Tim Sylvia in the main event and he destroyed him in less then a minute - basically striked him onto the ground then took his back and choked him - but the fight was over from the strikes really.

We saw the return of one of my favorite fighters from the past - Vitor Belfort. I was really hoping he was gonna win - frank trigg was saying how this is a new vitor etc etc so he isnt going to go nuts like he did back when he was young in the UFC and smoked Wanderlei Silva. Fight started out slow then wammo vitor nailed terry martin with a vicious flying knee - then hit him with an uppercut then a straight left hand and put him through the ropes - lol pwnage.

Also was nice to see Josh Barnett be victorious and bring some flair to the event with his samarai like spirit.

Anyways here are the offical results:

Fedor Emelianenko defeats Tim Sylvia via submission (rear naked choke) in round one
Arlovski defeats Rothwell via technical knockout (strikes) in round three
Josh Barnett defeats Pedro Rizzo via knockout in round two
Babalu Sobral defeats Mike Whitehead via Unanimous Decision
Matt Lindland defeats Fabio Nascimento via Unanimous Decision
Paul Buentello defeats Gary Goodridge via unanimous decision
Vitor Belfort defeats Terry Martin via TKO (Strikes) Round 2
Mark Hominick defeats Savant Young via Submission (Armbar) Round 2
Rogerio Nogueria defeats Edwin DeWees via TKO (Strikes) Round 1
Mike Pyle defeats JJ Ambrose via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Round 1

All in all it was a great stacked card - but it was too long with too many commercials - having megadeath playing live was cool but only if you are a fan of them which I was not lol - Big John McCarthy needs practice on his telecasting - he was so hyper he was yelling in the fighters faces when he was interviewing them. And also he kept calling Vitor Belort "Bellfert"... lol dude its BELL FOUR the T is silent - I guess he didnt get the memo.

Also it was hella cheesy when they were announcing all the celebs in attendance instead of just panning to them etc - they only panned to like 2-3 people like tito ortiz and jenna. The funniest part though was when they panned to Donald Trump and behind him to the left was Michael Madsen and they never mentioned him lol. He has been in about 100 movies lol like Kill Bill and Resevoir Dogs etc etc.

UFC Fight Night 14 Results - Anderson Silva Wins!

Well as everyone predicted, Anderson the spider Silva defeated James Sandman Irvin. What poeople didn't expect was for Silva to beat him so fast and so bad. LOL does Anderson Silva ever get hit?? Sandman threw a kick, Silva catches it with his left hand and punches him with his right - BAM - that basically ended it - Sandman fell back on his butt, Silva pounced on him, threw a few strikes, 2 of them got through and then ref stopped it - he was done. Will he hold both belts eventually? Dan Henderson style?

Anyways here are the official results:

-Anderson Silva def. James Irvin by KO at 1:01, R1
-Brandon Vera def. Reese Andy by unanimous decison at 5:00, R3
-Frankie Edgar def. Hermes Franca by unanimous decision at 5:00, R3
-Cain Velasquez def. Jake O'Brien by TKO at 2:02, R1
-Kevin Burns def. Anthony Johnson by TKO at 3:35, R3
-C.B. Dollaway def. Jesse Taylor by submission (peruvian neck tie) at 3:58, R1
-Tim Credeur def. Cale Yarbrough by TKO at 1:54, R1
-Rory Markham def. Brodie Farber by KO at 1:47, R1
-Nate Loughran def. Johnny Rees by submission (triangle choke) at 4:21, R1
-Brad Blackburn def. James Gaboo by TKO (strikes) at 2:29, R2
-Shannon Gugerty def. Dale Hartt by submission (rear naked choke) at 3:33, R1

Anderson Silva vs The Sandman James Irvin

Soooo tomorrow night live on SpikeTV is the fight between Anderson Silva and James Irvin. I think that Silva is going to win. It was interesting to hear Irvin say the only advantage he had was that he was bigger and stronger... so you are saying he is better then you in striking, wrestling and jujitsu? hmm ok well then the Sandman is in big trouble. I forsee a second round KO by silva... why 2nd round because I think he will almost get knocked out by the end of the first round but then be saved by the bell only to be destroyed in the opening few seconds of round two - let's see if I am right :)

Quinton Rampage Jackson arrested!

Well I haven't updated this blog in a while so I think I will start doing that again. Quinton Rampage Jackson was arrested today for being in a car chase with police. Apparently he was driving in his Rampage truck which is a big pickup truck that is lifted with nice fat tires and is covered in Toyo Tires branding because he just did a deal with them. So he gets pulled over for driving with a flat tire - but instead of stopping - he decides to keep driving.. no big deal right? wrong. He drives on the wrong side of the road, almost hits pedestrians, and even drives on the sidewalk. Eventually he pulls over where he is arrested at gunpoint. I am not sure what he was thinking - I mean he wasnt going to get away and his picture is on the side of his truck. Perhaps there was drugs involved or perhaps he has just been punched in the head one too many times :/ either way he is probably looking at least 2 years in prison. I wonder how many fights he will get into in there O_o btw hi Jimmmy ;)

Randy Couture vs Tim Sylvia

I read a very interesting post on another mma blog: ufcjunkie.com - its a great site - the owner really puts a lot of time into maintaining the site. Anyhoo the bottom line here is that there is a very good chance we are going to see Randy Couture vs Tim Sylvia at UFC 68. It doesn't matter why or if etc - if you want to read the lead up to all this bs then read it at ufcjunkie. SOoo what is my opinion of this? I think it would be a bad move to bring back Couture to face Sylvia and here is why... even if he CAN beat Sylvia which is not a definite thing he would most certainly get DESTROYED by Cro-cop. I don't think it would do anything good for the sport to have a hall of famer get his butt whipped. *cough gracie cough* its too bad that Brandon Vera won't be fighting in the UFC anymore it appears. The heavyweight division blows chunks at the moment. At some point cro cop is going to get the title shot, win it, then hold onto it for a longgggggggggggggg time. What really pisses is me off is that Joe Rogan had Tim Sylvia on Inside the UFC and he didn't even MENTION crocop! grrrrrrrr I wanted to here what Tim had to say about that. Instead we heard bs about him taking his belt everywhere (and forgetting it some places) and how he thinks he is going to retire in a few years as the champ. IN your dreammmmms Tim. Maybe because Sylvia is such a big gangly uninspiring redneck that people don't appreciate him. I think people appreciate finesse and a champion's mental attitude and Tim doesn't exactly exude that. I will say I give the guy more respect after hearing him on Inside the UFC. At least he was humble and seems to be taking the lack of appericiation in stride and seems genuinely interested in proving everyone wrong. I think a lot of people perceived him to be arrogant in the past and now he is trying to right those wrongs. His knockout of Tra Telligman comes to mind where his post fight talk with Joe Rogan he never mentioned anything about Tra - never showed him any respect - he just went on an on about how he was uber and now he can kick.

Pride FC Shockwave 2006 Results

Hi everyone sorry I'm a few days late posting the results from Pride FC Shockwave 2006 anyhoo here is the results and my thoughts on the fights etc.. lets start with the results:

Shinya Aoki defeats Joachim Hansen via Submission - This match was cool and not cool at the same time. Aoki was wearing these rainbow colored tights and the announcers were talking about how he likes to wear them cuz it helps the triangle from slipping off. Shortly into the fight Hansen ended up on the top and instead of getting up to strike again he stayed in Aoki's guard. It didn't take him long to go into a rubber guard then proceed to pull his leg UNDER Hansen's chin which I have never seen before thgen grab the back of his head pull it down and then place his other leg over - very weird choke but it worked.

Akihiro Gono defeats Yuki Kondo by Decision - I don't even remember this fight cuz it was so boringggggggggg.

Mauricio Rua defeats Kazuhiro Nakamura by Decision - this was a decent fight and I am a big Shogun fan but like Frank Trigg said it appear as if he was sick or soemthing because he looked very tired. He had full mount probably 5 times during the fight but could not finish it.

Gilbert Melendez defeats Tatsuya Kawajiri by Decision - this fight was another snoozer not much to say.

-Kazuyuki Fujita defeats Eldari Kurtanidze by TKO - This Kurtanidze guy was a joke. He was walking around the ring with his arm STRAIGHT OUT O_o even Trigg was like "I have never seen anyone do this before lol" it was just a matter of time until he ate a punch. He ate one then TURNED and fell to the ground and was almost stopmed before the ref stopped it.

Takanori Gomi defeats Mitsuhiro Ishida by TKO (strikes) - this fight was supposed to be exciting and long but Gomi dominated Ishida and finished him off with strikes in less than a minute and a half.

James Thompson defeats Hidehiko Yoshida by TKO - This match was hilarous. I really like James Thompson but dude you got to work on your cardio. They stopped the fight because Yoshida was out of gas completly. Bad cardio vs bad cardio.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira defeats Josh Barnett by Decision - I was not impressed with Barnett in this fight. I think he could have won this fight but he just didn't make it happen.

Fedor Emelianenko def. Mark Hunt by Submission - this was the most surprising fight of the card. No one gave Hunt a chance in this fight (including me in a previous post) but he almost won the fight. He was very close to a kimura and if he had persisted he could have got it. He was on top and even had full mount at one point. I have never seen Emelianenko on his back and with someone else in side mount on him. Somehow he managed to get to his feet and within a few seconds HE had side control on Hunt and it didn't take him long to secure the kimura. Hunt: you really need to work on kimura defense.

UFC 66 Results

Wow what an amazing event. It's been a while since I have seen such a good event. In addition to the greats fights we also were blessed with the great news that Mirko CroCop Filipovic will definitely be coming to the UFC and in fact will be fighting at UFC 67. We all know Crocop from PrideFC. I am very pleased to see him come to the UFC because the heavyweight division in the UFC is pretty ghetto. Tim Slivia is not much of a champion. It won't be long before Crocop gets his shot at Silvia and takes the title away from him. So if I was Tim Silva I would enjoy that belt while you still got it. The sad reality of Crocop leaving Pride and coming to UFC is that there is nothing else Crocop could do in Pride. He CAN NOT beat Fedor Emelianko the current heavyweight champion in Pride so he might as well come to UFC and be the champ here. The whole unlimited weight class tournament was a joke because Fedor was not in it due to injury. The other good news we got tonight is that Quinton Rampage Jackson will be fighting at UFC 67. I'm sure they are going to put him up against some ham n' egger so he can just smoke him but maybe I'm wrong we shall see. I've always been a big fan of Jackson as I love guys that can slam opponents. He is however in the same boat that Crocop is in. He was unable to beat the current champion in Pride Wanderlei Silva. Anyways enough with the chit chat lets get on to the results.

Christian Wellisch defeats Anthony Perosh by Decision
Yushin Okami defeats Rory Singer by Submission
Gabriel Gonzaga defeats Carmelo Marrero by Submission
Thiago Alves defeats Tony DeSouza by KO
Michael Bisping defeats Eric Schafer by TKO
Andrei Arlovski defeats Marcio Cruz by KO
Jason MacDonald defeats Chris Leben by Submission
Keith Jardine defeats Forrest Griffin by TKO
Chuck Liddell defeats Tito Ortiz by TKO

Let me start with the Chuck Tito fight since thats why most of you are here. In the first round Tito came out swinging and was throing some big right hands. Chuck was just standing around throwing the odd punch here and there - not really pursuing Tito very actively. Tito tried a few takedowns but they were pathetic and were easily sprawled. Then Chuck cracked Tito with a punch and punced on him throwing endless strikes but somehow Tito managed to weather the storm and survive the round. Round 2 we saw much of the same thing as round one... Eddie Bravo socred the 2nd round 10 to 9 for Tito. Round 3 Tito kicked chuck with a leg kick and appeared to have broken his foot. Half way through the round they began to exchange flurries of punches and AS USUAL Chuck got the better of the exchange and kept going with it eventually dropping Tito to the mat and finishing him with strikes. After the match was over Tito said that was the best he could do and that he brought his A game and was sorry he let his fans down. I honestly think he could have done a better job taking him down and I think he shoudl get together with Randy Couture and go over some of the stuff Couture was talking about after the event. Who is next for Chuck Liddell? Probably its going to be Rampage Jackson just because it will draw viewers but Jackson doesn't stand much of a chance in my opinion.

Ok lets talk about my fellow Canadian Jason MacDonald and his win over Chris Leben. I have to say I was impressed with Leben in this fight. I always saw him as a sloppy fighter but today I saw how far he has come. He still got a bit sloppy and perhaps that's why he lost but I think with more training he can go far. MacDonald took a look of shots in this fight but was relentless with his attempt to take Leben down. He FINALLY got him down and then went to work. He secured a guillotine from the top in half guard and then transitioned into a very weird back/side/O_o kind of position while still holding the choke. He got his legs somehow around Leben and secured the body triangle. Eventually Leben went to sleep and could barely tap out. Now that MacDonald has taken out 2 of the 3 The Ultimate Fighter Champions will they pit him against Mike Swick and will MacDonald be able to pull off a sweep of all the TUF opponents. "Call me the TUF Killer" he said tonight to Joe Rogan.

Forrest Griffin.... wow I was impressed watching him in this fight vs Keith Jardine right up until the point where he ate a devastating uppercut by Jardine. Instead of trying to recover he tried to press on and ate a few more shots, fell to the ground and then Jardine pounded the snot out of him until the ref stopped it. Afterwards Griffin was really pissed and was crying. I'm sure he has got used to the nice lifestyle of fighting in the UFC and in order to stay there you NEED TO WIN. He actually RAN out of the ring to the dressing room :'(

Arlovski was back on point and looked hungry and pissed off lol. Very interesting fight with Marcio Cruz and it looked as though cruz was going to submit him when they went to the ground but they were basically trying to ankle/leg lock each other and Arlovski kicked Cruz in the face prompting Yamasaki to pause the fight and give Arlovski a warning. Then they resumed fighting... within a few secs after that Arlovski as if saying "ok I'm not allowed to kick so I will just punch you" sat up and smashed Cruz in the face causing him to reel back and slouch over. Then Arlovski simply had to sit up and pound away on Cruz's head till the ref stopped it.
